Evidology’s QED (Quality and Evidence Driven) is a second generation RegTech solution which uniquely combines a rules-based regulations engine with the latest specialist legal interpretation and opinion for each regulation, achieving true confidence in compliance.
Using an industry-standard visualisation tool, the solution can be deployed quickly and easily, without affecting the underlying systems. The platform’s ability to address regulations in the financial markets gives companies a strategic advantage with the highest level of ongoing defence and consistently-argued evidence against liability.
QED is a solution for companies which need to comply with principles-based regulations, and for regulators which will now have an objective way of comparing organisations’ compliance efforts.
Many regulations, for example GDPR, are structured in a way that only tells companies when they have failed. QED is the only solution which combines the evidence-trail of the required reporting data with individual and corporate responsibilities, and links it to current legal opinion for each regulation. This fusion of traceability, dynamic compliance and expert legal opinion is the only approach which delivers the sustained ‘best effort’ which is now expected by regulators.
Case studies
CASE STUDY 01 | GDPR READINESS
QED was deployed to assess the GDPR readiness of a Nigerian Bank with a UK branch – using the argumentation analysis features of our product it was found that EU Citizens’ data was being processed in branches of the bank in Africa without any deemed consent of the owners. This forced a major rethink of the bank’s GDPR strategy and operational processes.
CASE STUDY 02 | PRACTICAL APPLICATION FOR SAFETY ASSESSMENT INDUSTRY
Evidology Systems were approached by a leading US-based engineering safety assessment company to prove that the Evidology toolset could be used to standardise the analysis of complex interconnected electronic and mechanical systems.
In doing this, QED replaced a manual spreadsheet system to provide verification of compliance with the ISO26262 Automotive standard.
The standard certifies the “Functional safety of Electrical and Electronic systems” in road vehicles e.g. cruise control, assisted parking, braking, engine management systems etc. It’s a risk-based safety standard, where the risk of hazardous operational situations is qualitatively assessed and safety measures are defined – very similar to regulations such as BCBS in banking.
As well as generating the summary compliance statements, QED’s MIT Alloy Language export capability enabled fully traceable linkage between the wording of the standard and the verification test results of the system integration platform.
